A trip to the shops today led to this pandemic themed capture !
Todays hard light split this picture in half, the deep shadows create a unusual ambiguity , a lonely isolated, abstract “Street” vibe !
The Government lockdown restrictions and personal safety requirements make this crisis difficult to shoot, opportunities are limited , I’m especially pleased with this capture, a creative interpretation of these dark days .

I was a man with a plan today, I had a fully developed idea in my head and I was about to capture a shot in my garden . Then I found this !
I imagine this serendipitous piece of symbolism was accidentally gifted to me by neighboring children , it made me smile upon first sight , then made me sad on reflection !

I found myself at the back of the supermarket queue today, the “Social Distancing” spacing looked very odd through my lens !
Not too sure anyone is worried about how things look at the moment , its all about maintaining the safe two meter distance and keeping each other safe as we go about our essential errands !

I was moved by multiple sightings of rainbow themed child art today !
The children of Italy have adopted the rainbow as a positive symbol of hope during lockdown, alongside the slogan "Andrà tutto bene" which means "everything will be fine" in Italian. The campaign is now being adopted across the UK.
I would like to thank the local kids who put a smile on my face with their art during my exercise session , the rainbows reminded me of the lessons to be learned from the Wizard Of Oz narrative !

I faced my first lock down dilemma tonight , should I maintain my Friday night Chinese takeaway tradition ?
I needed something from the supermarket anyway , I didn’t want to cook, I decided that tonight would be curry night !
Despite the odd atmosphere and silence on the streets it was nice to get out of the house , this simple weekly treat has become a considered strategic decision !
This curry represented much more than the meal itself , this meal symbolised and connected me to my established routine and the normality of my life in times before … , stay safe .

I used a Shutter speed that was “wrong” , a aperture that was “wrong” , a bit of flash , shaky hands, no tripod and a sprinkle of “couldn’t care less” and got this !
Years ago this frame would not have survived my Kodachrome edit , today it is top of my digital pile , you can’t beat experience !
