The Foto What I took , No 7 , 2016

This series of blogs is based around pictures from my archive , I hope the words that accompany the featured pictures offer a level of context , insight and inspiration to readers .

“The Foto What I Took” blog title , is a comedy reference “borrowed" / inspired” by the Morcambe and Wise “The Play What I Wrote“ sketch …

“Billboards With Clouds Obscure My View Of The Sky”.

The first thing that needs clearing up with this picture is the source of inspiration , without the influence of Luigi Ghirri I don’t get to discover the thread of thoughts that lead to this capture or even see this picture in the context that I do , I highly recommend the work of Luigi Ghirri to those photographers who want to expand their pallet of creative photographic thoughts …

What’s this picture about then ? Thanks for asking , this picture is about man made objects within the built environment interfering with the natural elements , this picture explores the juxtaposition and irony of a large artificial representation of the sky ( A Photograph on a billboard ) interrupting my actual view of the real sky …

Its a simple view , simple capture and simple concept that possesses hidden depths in my view , once you get your head into it , the screw heads and shadows are a important part of this picture …

This graphic view could be interpreted as a comment on photography itself …

Proof that this Street Photography thing can manifest itself in many forms , it doesn’t have to be a load of old shadowy bollocks …

Look deeper …

This picture is about the irony of man made objects , (artifice) obscuring the view of the reality it is trying to represent.
